Peking University, Beijing, Dec 1, 2009: Recently PKU volunteers have gone to Wenxian County, Gansu Province, to engage in education and survey as well as to contribute to the improvement of ecological effect and education in the local area.

The volunteers consist of first year graduates from the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, the School of Arts and the School of Economics. They left Beijing on Nov. 15 and have arrived at Shangde Primary School of Wenxian County to provide 20-days of voluntary services.

Fully informed of the curriculum schedule of the school, volunteers have designed courses covering environmental education, English, arts, natural sciences and social sciences. They also managed to play films of environmental education in the class, giving the students an opportunity to see the outside world and realize the importance of environmental protection.
