Mar 04, 2024
Peking University, March 4, 2024: The Peking University Hall kicked off its spring season with a captivating performance of "Carmen" by the National Opera House on the nights of March 1 and 2, attracting an audience of 4,000 teachers and students.
"Carmen," a renowned masterpiece created by French composer Bizet, is celebrated worldwide for its infectious melodies. Its iconic arias craft distinct character portraits, while the richly layered chorus and magnificent instrumental accompaniments transport audiences to the vibrant streets of 19th-century Seville.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. This performance serves as both a tribute to the artistic exchange between the two nations and a reflection of shared emotional resonance and life experiences among the two peoples.
