Peking University, Beijing, Oct.24, 2009: As part of the "Colorful Yunnan, Charming Chuxiong" series, large-scale singing and dancing drama Sun Women from the Yi Nationality visited Peking University on Oct 19th. Wu Zhipan, PKU Deputy Party Secretary, Ke Yang, Vice president of PKU, Zhao Weimin, Minister of Party Committee Publicity Department and leaders from Publicity Department of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture attended the event.

The performance began with the song Yi People. The Yi-style dressed actresses' dance and singing immediately brought audiences back to the mysterious land of Yunnan.

The entire show composed of three parts, a preamble "Children of the Sun" "the enjoyment of life, songs with Life ", and "to create life, clever hand-painted rainbow ". Combining singing, dancing and the special style of the Yi Nationality, the performance presented an image of the life of Yi people and showed their passion for life and rich culture. The humorous and joyful show "Marriage" brought the show to the climax.

"My dear guests, please stay with us," the performance came to an end as all the performers whispered this touching melody repeatedly. They bowed to the audiences and reluctantly left the stage, delivering their sincere gratitude to the audiences and best wishes to our motherland.

Since its premiere in 2005, Sun Women has been performed more than one hundred times so far and was loved and appreciated by countless audiences. It has won many awards, including Silver Prize for Performance and Artwork, Best Clothing Design, Best Director in the 5th China Dancing "Lotus Prize", First Prize in National Singing, Dancing and Acrobatics Performances. In 2008, Sun Women was the only art show chosen from Yunnan Province to be showcased during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. It is regarded as "a living museum of the customs of the Yi Nationality" and "a living museum of the Yi's clothing".
