Peking University, Apr. 30, 2013: A mini concert, held by Peking University (PKU) Student Folk Music Band, was said to extract their "top-notch music."
10 members, from different departments and grades, contributed to the performance on April 12. Various kinds of Chinese traditional musical instruments were used, such as bamboo flute, yangqin, zhongruan, high-pitched sheng, pipa, jinghu, drum, guzheng, erhu, and so on.
The performance, as a rehearsal for the band's upcoming 90th-anniversary concert, was recognized by Professor Zhu Qiuhua, tutor of the band from PKU School of Arts, and Yu Chuan from the Central Conservatory of Music.
The concert attracted a lot of teachers and students interested in Chinese folk music, and they were held in thrall.
