Peking University, Mar. 29, 2013: Student Career Center (SCC) of PKU has put forward a service package of 10 measures to improve their work, so as to provide easier and better support for PKU graduates.
These 10 measures, aiming at “better work ethics and accessibility”, are:
1. Online Q&A on school BBS (Job or SCC section) each day with designated staff.
2. One-to-one consulting on job seeking every Friday afternoon, reservation required.
3. Inquiry service of employment data, industry information and career guidance events, based on SCC website and statistics of employment in past years.
4. Weekend salons featuring alumni and experienced staff from different industries, detailed information to be posted online in advance.
5. Lectures by outstanding alumni from different fields aimed at familiarizing students with working environment and giving advice on career skills.
6. Free mobile newspaper of job information, registration via SCC website.
7. Oriented recruitments including local government, universities and emerging industries, tailored to the needs of students and the change of the job market.
8. Internship recommendation to key employing units. Detailed information of the process will be posted online.
9. Subsidies of job application for students with weak financial background who are going to work in West China or at grassroots level. Application form can be downloaded from SCC website.
10. Tutorial classes guided by Party members, aimed to inform students who are to work as officials in rural areas of the living conditions, basic working skills and future career path.
SCC asks students to take advantage of the offered services and welcomes any questions or advice.
