A brief opening ceremony was hosted by Li Jie, director of PKU Khoo Teck Puat Gymnasium. Sun Li, executive vice president of PKU Labor Union, said in her speech that the badminton was an important part of PKU faculties’ health activities. Labor Union will do its best to coordinate all departments to insure the success of the championship.

Prof. Yue Sulan, vice president of PKU gave a speech as well. She hoped every player could attach great importance to the championship to carry forward the Olympic spirit of “Swifter, Higher, Stronger” in this Olympic venue. She also hoped them to enhance their communication through the contests and promote the development of badminton at PKU. She gave her best wishes to all the staffs, players, and referees as well, and wished the success of this championship. At last, she announced the opening of the championship.
The championship lasts 3 days. The teams are composed of both senior leaders and young teachers. There are female players in most matches, whose outstanding performances in the competition show PKU female teachers’ charm.
