Peking University, Nov.14, 2012: Conducted by TV Research Center of Peking University, the large-scale public welfare activities of the 8th China’s Journalists’ Day was held at Sunshine Hall of Ying Jie Exchange Center on November 7.
This year’s forum focused on citizens and society and initiated discussions around the core idea of “the way to logos” and several topics such as the expressions of people’s suggestions. Bai Yansong, the famous CCTV host, Lu Xiaohua, editor-in-chief of Xinhua News Agency, Liu Chun, editor-in-chief of Sohu, Yu Hong, director of TV Research Center of PKU, Zhang Yiwu, professor of department of Chinese language and literature, attended this forum and made speeches. Students from many universities in Beijing and some people from society also joined in this Forum.
This is the 8th large-scale public welfare activities of China’s Journalists’ Day since it was set up in the year of 2005. This activity is holding on the value of independence and criticism and has become a branding activity which enjoys wide influence in the fields of media now. This year’s forum attracted the attention of over 10 media such as Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Beijing News, BTV, Sohu and so on. China Education Television, Sina Weibo gave live broadcasting of the forum.
Yu Hongjun, Yu Hong, Zhang Zhijun, Shi Tongyu, Liu Chun, Bai Yansong, Lu Di, Zhang Yiwu and Lu Xiaohua took part in the discussions of the forum. They not only expounded their understanding of “logos”, but also put forward the way of media development and moral standards to media workers.
After the speeches, interactive session among media, guests and audience was held. A heated discussion was carried on between guests and audience, which pushed the forum to a new high.
This year’s forum attracted a lot of focus because of its theme “the way to logos”. Media scholars got together at PKU and discussed the problems about logos. It has a positive effect on motivating the society to go to the way to logos.
