The sixth anniversary concert of Acapella PKU kicks off

Peking University, May 16, 2015: The Special Concert of Acapella PKU “Voice • Road” was held in the Meng Minwei Concert Hall of Tsinghua University on May 10, 2015 to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Acapella PKU.
The theme, “Voice • Road”, is to express gratitude to the members who have offered their toil and sweat for the association on the “Road of Voice” and to all the students who have supported Acapella PKU and witnessed the growth of the association in the past six years. For this special concert, Acapella PKU has also invited A cappella vocal bands from Tsinghua University and The Second High School Attached to Beijing Normal University. During the three-hour performance, the eight bands with totally different styles brought the audiences great audio-visual pleasure and expressed the enchantment of A cappella through the most sincere performance.
As the first band performing in the concert, Plus Eleven from The Second High School Attached to Beijing Normal University was founded in July, 2013. All the members of the band are high school students and they have gained support from Acapella PKU. With “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, they won warm applauses. Voix from Tsinghua University was just established half a year ago, but they were quite seasoned on the stage. As the champion of the 2014 “Top Ten Singers Competition” of PKU, Five Elements was founded in September, 2007. Their “Yesterday” and “Barber of Seville Overture” fully demonstrated their singing skills. Set up in November, 2013, Sunday showed the audiences their enthusiasm and vitality. After that, the performances of Vocal Booth, Wake-Up, IScream and SEAbling extremely enhanced the atmosphere. Finally, with crazy screaming came the last performer Paca. Their nearly perfect performances illustrated their competence and the great tacit understanding between its members.
Acapella PKU, founded on Feb. 28, 2009, is the first student society in China that is devoted to gathering the fans of A cappella to study and promote its performing form and culture. Acapella PKU has provided a professional and pure A cappella stage for the PKU A cappella bands on which they have obtained a lot of valuable experience. With the constantly increasing influence and popularity of the association in the university, A cappella has gradually drawing attention on the Chinese mainland. As the brand activity of the association, “The Special Concert” has been held annually in the past five years. This year’s concert is unique for the sixth anniversary of the association.
The past six years has witnessed the constant enthusiasm of any fan of A cappella. “Voice • Road”, which shows the deep gratitude of Acapella PKU to its members and fans, implies the greatest pride and the eternal aim of every member of the association. It is believed that in the near future, there will be more and more fans of A cappella joining Acappella PKU on the “Road of Voice”.
