Peking University, Aug 14, 2015: From July 26th to 30th,46 students from Peking University, Taiwan University and Yunnan University came together to take part in the 9th PKU-NTU-YNU Social Program. This time student volunteersheaded to Cuanlong Primary School in Mangbang Town, Tengchong County, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province. It has been nine times in five years for student volunteers from the three universities to do social work and assist education.
Student volunteers prepared various and colorful courses for the children of the mountains.In addition, student volunteers taught the courses in songs, games, drawing, and dancing, which made the study process an educational and enjoyable experience for the children. Besides, student volunteers displayed the postcards made by the children on the online sharing platform showing the voice of the children in order to get more social attention for public welfare.
Then on August 1st, teachers and students from the three universities visited local veterans of the anti-Japanese war, listening to the stories of the time and showing the respect to the veterans.
PKU-NTU-YNU Social Program is a public service and social practice initiated in July 2011 by Peking University, Taiwan University and Yunnan University. This program helps strengthen exchanges and promote understanding of the cross-straits youth students, and further enhance their concern and willingness to serve the community.
