Peking University, Nov.26, 2015: On November 21, 2015, the third National Population and Health Seminar and the press conference of “Blue Book of the Population and Health of Shenzhen (2015)” were convened in Peking University. Around 80 specialists and scholars from Development Research Center of the State Council, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other government sectors, universities and scientific research institutes attended the meeting.
This seminar was sponsored by the Research Center for Chinese Society and Development of PKU and co-organized by theCommittee on Population and Policy from China Population Association and Shenzhen Research Institute of Population and Family Planning. The conference consisted of three parts: the opening ceremony, symposiums and the press conference of the new BlueBook.

The first session centered on the current situation and prospect of population and health, Scholars discussed on issues including the relationship between teenagers’ health and the sustainable development aim in 2030, people’s health and life span during economic transition and the health issueof the middle-aged and the elderly during urbanization.
In the second session, scholars exchanged ideas on topics such as air pollution and human health, the urban-rural disparity in the transmission and the control of chronic diseases, the estimation of life expectancy of the Midwest, etc.

The press conference of the “Blue Book of the Population and Health of Shenzhen (2015)” was successfully held. From 2011, the series of blue books on Shenzhen’s population and health have been issued through the joint effort of the Research Center for Chinese Society and Development of PKU, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the family planning departments and other organizations.
