Peking University May 6,2016: On May 2nd, PKU alumni came back their Alma Mater,their“home”: Peking Universitytocelebrateits 118thbirthday.

With the hope to bring every alumnus a sense of belonging, PKU Alumni Association arranged a rich variety of enjoyable activities, includinguniversity marathon, theatric performance and poetry recital.
Despite the drizzle, the alumni arrived at the first stop -- the reception desk in the early morning, applying for the campus cards and BOC-PKU credit cards. The alumni alsoreceived back-home gifts and gave donation there.

As one of the major activities of PKU’s 118th anniversary, the university marathon started at Wu-si Sports Center at 7 am. More than 1000 alumni took part in the running and over 600 alumni expressed their feeling of attachment and best wishes to PKU via Wechat.

At 10 o’clock, alumni walked around the campus revisiting the very place where they used to live.Some buildings of PKU has changed, like the old NO. 30 Building, but their deep feelings for Yanyuan remained the same.

Some old alumni reunited at the Nongyuan Dining Hall and the hall ofAdministrative Building, seeing old friends again and sharing with each other their good old days at PKU.In front of the NO.30 Building, lower-grade students made Mark cupcakes and shared their beautiful college life in PKU with alumni.

 
Donation

More than 30 teams participated in the Second Alumni Badminton Tourament held at PKU Gym. At Wu-si Sports center, elder alumni from the class of 1991 competed with youngeralumni in their 30s.Not only did they enjoy the competition, but also they commemorated those happy days at PKU as students.

Then Alumni took a“Culture Tour”visiting the library, Geological Digital Museum, Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology and so on.

Besides, the poetry recital provided not only a platform for the alumni and their own children to interactwith each other but also a unique opportunity forPKU’s younger generationto show their talents.

In the evening, graduates of 1991, along with their children andPKU faculty, performed a terrific show together to celebratethe 118th anniversary of PKU.

How time flies! PKU has cultivated numerous excellent students since 1898. It is the place where we dream,we learn and we grow. So dear alumni ,PKU always welcome you to come back home, no matter how faryou have gone.
