Peking University, October 17, 2017: On October 10, 2017, the Office of Laboratory and Equipment Management of Peking University held a conference on laboratory security management in Meeting Room 303 of Shaoyuan. The conference aimed to reinforce security management practices of laboratories on campus during the 19th CPC National Congress. The conference was attended by 38 people including experts in laboratory security management.

Liu Kexin, director of the Office of Laboratory and Equipment Management opened the conference by introducing recently updated requirements specified by the higher leaders. He emphasized that those who are using the equipment should be responsible for it. Liu also put forward new methods of disposing chemical waste. Later, Zhang Zhiqiang, Dean of the Office of Environmental Protection, elaborated on the management of radioactive substances and explosive chemicals.
The conference concluded with Director Liu expressing his appreciation for the efforts of all his colleagues. He emphasized once more that laboratory security management requires long-term and systematic attention and that negligence is unacceptable. He demanded that staff members take their work very seriously and fulfil their obligations to ensure the safety of the laboratories on campus.
