Center for European Union Economic and Strategic Studies established

Peking University, October 19, 2020: Peking University, Bank of China (BOC), and China Chamber of Commerce to the EU co-founded the Center for European Union Economic and Strategic Studies.
Based on the agreement, all three parties will give full play to their advantages and make better use of their recourses to build an open and international platform. A series of activities including policy research, think tank reports, conferences, forums, and lectures will be held. The Center will put its emphasis on China-EU trade, investment, finance, green economy transition, and public policy, in order to meet the needs of national development, economy, and diplomacy.
Liu Liange meets with Hao Ping
Hao Ping, president of PKU, said that the establishment of the Center will be beneficial for China to engage with Europe and the rest of the world. Hao added that he hopes the Center will be built into an influential platform for EU studies based on PKU’s academic strength and BOC’s prowess in managing international and integrated financial services.
Liu Liange, chairman of BOC, said that the Center will play an active role in promoting financial cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and the EU. BOC will tap on its advantages in global operations and expand its cooperation with PKU in the fields of joint talent training, think tank development, and international projects to promote China’s higher education and make contributions to building a new development model.
