Peking University, Dec. 1, 2010: On Nov. 28, the 2010 championship of the Beijing University Volleyball Association (BUVA) concluded at Communication University of China (CUC). The Volleyball Association of Peking University (VAPKU) managed to defend the women's championship.
The annual BUVA championship was hosted by the Federation of University Sports of Beijing, and attracted 17 teams this year. As the defending champion, the PKU team defeated competitors like the CUC team and the team of University of International Business and Economics, retaining the title with flying colors — winning all the six matches with only one set lost.
"Our team members have realized their individual values in such teamwork, and gained honor for the university," said Prof. Huang Jianbin, special advisor to VAPKU. "But we must enrich our playing methods, improve the ability of current members, and infuse new bloods."

In recent years, with the support of the university, the PKU Volleyball Association plays an active role in the implementation of nationwide public fitness programs, and has participated in various sports events with remarkable results. It also spares no effort to carry on organizing competitions like "PKU Cup" and "Freshman Cup," promoting the popularity of volleyball, of lifelong sports, and of the conscious of "sports for all" on campus.
