Peking University, Nov. 23, 2010: Hosted by China Economics Annual Conference Secretariat and undertaken by Henan University of Economics And Law, the 10th China Economics Annual Conference was held in Henan University of Economics And Law in Zhengzhou, Henan Province.

The China Economics Annual Conference is an academic gathering of Chinese economists, initiated and organized by PKU's National School of Development and has been successfully held nine times since 2001. It aims to strengthen exchange and cooperation among economics departments in Chinese universities as well as teaching and research institutes of economics at home and abroad, to provide an open and interactive platform for teachers and students of economics, to promote the teaching and academic research level, to engender a free, open, and down-to-earth academic environment, and to make due contributions to the reform and development of China. Over the past decade, the annual conference has witnessed a growing number of participating scholars, the rising level of conference papers and its increasing academic and social influence.

The theme of this year's annual conference is "China's Economy in the Future Decade". Guests and scholars such as Wang Tongsan, Director of Institute of Quantitative & Technical Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Sheng Hong, Director of the Unirule Institute of Economics, Huang Yiping, Professor of PKU National School of Development and Li Xiaoxi, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee and Honorary President of School of Economics and Resource Management of Beijing Normal University expressed their opinions on issues like the opportunities and challenges for the economic development of China from the perspectives of their respective fields.

During the annual conference, over 400 specialists and scholars from home and abroad carried out in-depth discussions on 400 selected papers in 23 fields such as Macroeconomics, Financing and Securities, Enterprise Management, International Economics, Agricultural Economics, Institutional Economics, Health economics and National Defense Economics in 70 sessions.

In addition, the meeting of deans of school of economics from various Chinese universities, the meeting of the Council of China Economics Annual Conference, the gathering of readers of China Economic Journal and the Q&A of CHARLS Program by PKU National School of Development, the Luncheon party for women economists and Book Fair for Economics and Management were held during the annual conference.

The closing ceremony was held in the conference center at Yingbin Hotel of the Yellow River on the afternoon of Nov. 21, presided over by Cheng Lin, Secretary of CPC Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Committee. Hong Yongmiao, Chair Professor of Economics and International Research at Cornell University and Dean of The Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics of Xiamen University, Wei Sen, Vice President of School of Economics of Fudan University and Ping Xinqiao, Professor from PKU School of Economics, gave their speeches on the topic "Development and Application of Economics in China" respectively. Prof. Yao Yang, Prof. Huang Yiping and Prof. Xue Zhaofeng from PKU National School of Development made their comments. In the end, Wu Hemao, Secretary General of the annual conference delivered the closing speech and announced that the 11th China Economics Annual Conference would be held in Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
