Peking University, September 11, 2020: On the morning of September 8, Peking University Council Chair Qiu Shuiping and President Hao Ping met with Liu Chak Wan, chancellor of Macau University of Science and Technology, and Liu Liang, president of MUST, to conduct an in-depth exchange session on the cooperation between the two universities. PKU Executive Vice President and Provost Gong Qihuang and PKU Vice President Wang Bo also attended the meeting.

Qiu gave a brief introduction of Peking University, followed by a summary of PKU’s upward trend of development in recent years. He pointed out that the two universities share similarities when it comes to the establishment of disciplines and the development of cutting-edge technologies, and PKU is willing to strengthen holistic cooperation with MUST to serve national needs. Hao expressed his admiration for the achievements made by MUST since its establishment. Hao added that both universities boast profound ties in the past, for example working together to build Faculty of Law at MUST, so he believes that the prospect is very promising for deeper mutual cooperation.

Liu Chak Wan and Liu Liang extended their gratitude to PKU for long-term support to MUST. They gave an overview of MUST and emphasized their commitment to building holistic cooperation based on technical prowess of both sides.
After the meeting, the delegation headed over to Rare Books Branch of Peking University Library for an exhibition on ancient literature.
