Ding came to the 2nd Section of the Infectious Disease Department of the hospital and asked specifically about the procedures for treating patients with fever. People’s Hospital’s director Wang Shan, Party Secretary Chen Hong, vice director Mao Xun and other leaders reported their process and preparation concerning the process of preventing the H1N1 flu. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Beijing Health Bureau, the People’s Hospital of Peking University paid high attention to the prevention of the flu, founding emergency leader groups, working groups, medical treatment specialist groups as well as setting up a secondary observation area in the Infectious Disease Department, enforcing the emergency medical care personnel and supply storage. Apart from that, the hospital has set up a “H1N1 flu” control and report network to clarify the procedures of treating the flu, and a Biosafety research lab was established. At the same time, the hospital party committee has begun training staff members in separate levels, raising their responsibility and sense of urgency for prevention work. They have intensified their publication to the public so as to be more responsible for the people’s health and safety.
At the conclusion of the visit, Deputy Mayor Ding applauded the work People’s Hospital of Peking University had done so far, and he hoped the hospital will continue to fight against the flu, improving and strengthening the management and prevention of the H1N1 flu.
