Peking University, Beijing, Nov.5th, 2009: At the news of the renowned space technology expert Mr. Tsien Hsue-shen’s passing away, Peking University sent a telegram of condolences to the office of funeral arrangement for Tsien Hsue-shen in order to present deep mourning and to send best regards to the families and relatives of Mr. Tsien Hsue-shen. Shocked at the news that Mr. Tsien Hsue-shen, the father of Chinese aeronautics, the founder of “The Two Bombs and One Satellite (researched and launched by the People's Republic of China), the “National Outstanding Achievement Prize” winner, passed away due to disease on Oct. 31st, 2009, Peking University sends deep mourning and the best regards to the families and relatives of Mr. Tsien Hsue-shen.
Mr. Tsien Hsue-shen devoted his whole life to the country. His inregrity and virtues set a great example to all the Chinese people. He wholeheartedly devoted in science and spent all his life for the pursuit of the truth which set a great paragon for studying science. Mr. Tsien Hsue-shen was also creative with foresight and wisdom, which extremely contributes to the education. His passing away is a great loss for both the education field and the scientific field of China. We will definitely turn grief into strength following his steps to nurture new talents and be creative in studying science. We will benefit the society and contribute to our country as a way to console Mr. Tsien Hsue-shen.
