The final of Peking University Drama Talent Competition kicks off

Peking University, May 9, 2019: The final of the 2018-2019 Peking University Drama Talent Competition was held at Peking University Hall. A total of four brilliant original plays from four crews were put on stage, making up an unforgettable night.
1. We'll see
The first drama, "We'll see", depicts a group of close friends: A Su and Xiao You, who go from misunderstanding to reconciliation with each other; Liao liao, who fails to pursue her literary dreams; Duo duo, who is deeply hurt by her first love; San Jin, who gets great love from his mother; Er Qi, who clings to the memory of the good old days with her friends back in school. However, they go their separate ways after graduation and find out that there is no chance for them to fill in the blanks. We always say “We’ll see” until we find there is no way turning back. The drama expresses the students’ prospects of future and reflection on family, friendship and love, playing a bitter-sweet symphony of graduation.
2. The Death of No.13
Who is the hero No.13? Who kills the hero No.13? What does the hero No.13 die for?
The shot in Paramount Hall ends the life of the traitor Zhong Youde and changes the fate of the Communist agent Su Bicheng. After the exposure of her identity, Su Bicheng faces the dilemma: to work with Lin Xiuman, the latent agent of the Kuomintang intelligent agency in the Wang puppet government, or to commit suicide. For the national interest, she chooses to be a hidden spy in the Kuomintang intelligent agency, providing valuable intelligence for the Communist Party, but her hands are inevitably stained with her comrades’ blood.
Now Shanghai is going to be liberated by the Communist Party. Being an intelligence agent, how can we prevent others from impersonating No.13 and endangering the security of the Communist Party of China? A gunshot and a suicide note are the answers left to us by the hero No.13.
3. Yudu Village
Yudu Village tells a story that women in Yudu Village use their blood to make a distinctive wine when getting married so as to obey the odd customs and traditions. Once their husbands drink the blood wine, the wives will be everlastingly restricted to their husbands and deprived of liberty. One day, a blood wine disappeared in the Manjia Inn. Travelers there are trapped in this mystery as the owner of Manjia Inn suspects them of stealing his daughter’s blood wine. Meanwhile, travelers find it a distinguished marriage that the owner plans to marry his daughter to a dead man. However, his daughter’s sound is never heard by him. In this way, Yudu Village indicates that gender stereotype and oppression restrict women’s freedom and spirits.
4. A Zhao and A Ge
“I am the unknown to you. You are the world to me.”
“To find certainty from possibilities, identity from similarities, uniqueness from infinity, and you from you.”
If I travel through time and space, only to piece together the fragments and restore the original you. What will you do, to embrace me or to estrange me?
If I travel through time and space, only to save you from the merciless death and resume our love. What will you do, to kiss me or to kill me?
The torrent of time separates us, but I want to go upstream and return to the beginning of our story.
In countless parallel universes, will there be a A zhao and a A Ge, spending the rest of their lives and grow old together, as we dream before?
Time and space traversing, parallel universe and artificial intelligence, under the shell of science fiction, the drama, A Zhao and A Ge, is an ode to the everlasting love.
In the end, A Zhao and A Ge won the championship of this year’s PKU Drama Talent Competition, while Yudu Village ranked second. Other awards, such as the Best Actor and Best Actress, were presented as well.
