Peking University, Oct. 30, 2010: On Oct. 24, the Forum of Cultural Industry Frontier jointly held by PKU Institute for Cultural Industries  (PKUICI) and Training Centre of National Development and Reform Commission took place at PKU Yingjie Overseas Exchange Center. The aim of the forum was to explore the developmental pattern of cultural industry during the National Twelfth Five-year Plan.

 
Li Wuwei, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC said at the main conference that the cultural industry would play a crucial part in transforming the mode of economic growth. The development of creative cultural industry was significant for the innovation of city culture, the industry, and the system of organization. More importantly, it would greatly promote the cultural quality and creativity of the Chinese people.

The forum had two sub-sessions: one was “ Strategy and Developmental Pattern under New Conditions”, and the other was “Dialogue between Sides of Investment and Financing”. Prof. Xiang Yong from PKUICI, Prof. Fan Zhou from Communication University of China, Prof. Wei Pengju from Central University of Finance and Economics had an in-depth discussion in the first sub-session.

Prof. Xiang Yong delivered a speech entitled “Promoting the Combination of Cultural Innovation and Technological Innovation”. He explained the importance of the combination of culture and technology with several cases. He said that we were in a new age of the combination of innovation of both culture and technology, and thus we should enhance the depth of innovation, establish a multicultural and multinational team, provide more favorable public space to inspire creativity, and set up a global shared service platform of innovation. He also pointed out that the traditional Chinese cultural products and cultural innovations should be more internationalized and we could apply cultural management to the combination of creativity and culture.

In the sub-session “Dialogue between Sides of Investment and Financing”, Hu Yueming, President of China ACG Group Co., Ltd, Xu Ningbo, General Manager of Huangshan Investment Funds, and other elites in business delivered speeches, and shared their ideas on investments and cultural industry respectively with the audience.
