Peking University, Dec. 30, 2010: PKU International Students and Foreign Experts New Year's Party 2011 was held at Shao Yuan on Dec. 21, 2010. Li Yansong, vice president of PKU, Xia Hongwei, deputy director of PKU Office of International Relations, Zhang Ying, dean of PKU School of Chinese as a Second Language, and professors from other schools and departments, celebrated the New Year with more than 400 international students and foreign experts together.

PKU Vice President Li Yansong delivered his New Year’s message in the beginning. He expressed his New Year's wish for all the professors and students. He highly appreciated the foreign experts for their significant contributions to the development of PKU teaching, researches, construction of disciplines, and cultivation of the talents, and hoped that the international students would study hard and have a good time at PKU. He also encouraged all to work together for the goal of PKU becoming a world-class university.

After the speech, Vice President Li and the guests presented awards to excellent international students, excellent associations of international students, excellent photographers and booths on the PKU International Cultural Festival 2010. After the awarding ceremony, vice-president Li shared New Year's cake with foreign experts and international students, and the warm and pleasant atmosphere prevailed on the spot.
Then the party performance began with pleasant songs and hot dances. Two international students learned to dance hip-hop on the stage with students from Hip Hop Association; the songs of Singsong Chorus attracted the attention of all the audience; the rap performed by Li Zhiling from Singapore won loud applaud from the audience; and, at last, the traditional dances by African students brought the party to its climax.

With the lively music and dances and everyone’s beautiful longing for a new year, PKU International Students and Foreign Experts New Year's Party 2011 came to an end.
