Peking University reaches a record high in global university rankings

Peking University, Sept. 12, 2019: Peking University has been ranked 24th in the latest world university rankings released by Times Higher Education (THE), climbing seven places from 31st in the previous year. This is also the best performance that PKU has achieved over years, making it become top 2 amongst Asian universities.
The 2020 edition of THE World University Rankings includes more than 1,300 universities from 92 countries and regions. It is based on five major indicators such as teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook. Peking University saw a leapfrog advancement in industry income this year, giving impetus to the rise of its overall ranking.
The Times Higher Education is UK's most authoritative source of information about higher education. It publishes the global university rankings annually, putting Peking University in the 29th, 27th and 31st place in 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively.
