PKU Professor Chen Kunqiu attends an exhibition on the development of China’s printing industry

Peking University, October 13, 2019: To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Exhibition on Seventy Years’ Abundant Accomplishment of Printing opened on September 23.

Chen Kunqiu, professor of Wang Xuan Institute of Computer Technology at Peking University, attended the event. Chen reviewed the development of the printing industry since the founding of New China in 1949 and expressed her best wishes to the 70th anniversary.

Held for more than one month, the exhibition is divided into four parts: creation and exploration, reform and opening up, prosperity and development, as well as integration and innovation. More than 80 precious items are on display, including documents, tickets, books, newspapers, journals, and the “Chinese character information processing and laser phototypesetting technology”. The exhibition demonstrates the development of the printing industry, the innovation of printing technology and the government’s firm support.
