PKU wins in the 5th China College Students ‘Internet +’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

Peking University, Oct. 28, 2019: The 5th China College Students' ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, from October 12 to 15. The team project of Peking University - "Space-ground Integrated Intelligent UAV Uninterruptable Inspection System" won the gold award and was shortlisted to compete for the top three with other universities.

In the competition, the team of Peking University proposed the project "Space-ground Integrated Intelligent UAV Uninterruptable Inspection System", which took AI as its core in the field of industrial UAV and the full-automatic airport. This project is based on the integration of multi-sensor, computer vision, and auto-analysis.
The Orca UAV and Tiger Den Automatic Airport, launched in the project, enabled UAV to accomplish the tasks all on its own. Such technologies have been applied in many fields including electric power, fossil oil, security, smart city, etc.
Aimed at deepening the reform of higher education and stimulating the creativity of college students, the China College Students ‘Internet +’ Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition was proposed and initiated by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in 2015. As one of the most influential competitions in the field, the number of applicants reached 4,574,000 this year.
