Oct 30, 2019
Peking University, Oct. 29, 2019: From October 15 to 19, the 2019 National Polymer Academic Papers Conference (NPAPC) was held in Xi’an. Professor Zhan Xiao Wei from the College of Engineering Peking University won the 2019 China Chemical Society Polymer Science Invitation Report Honor Award and was invited to make a report at the conference. The awarded project Fused-ring Electron Acceptor Photovoltaic Materials was published in Acta Polymerica Sinica. The NPAPC began in 1954 and has become the most important academic conference in the domestic polymer science community. This year, nearly 5,000 people, including 13 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering participated in this national event.
Qian Renyuan, the former chair of the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS), established the CCS Polymer Science Innovation Award, which includes the CCS Polymer Science Invitation Report Honor Award and the Chinese Chemical Society Polymer Science Innovation Paper Award. To date, 12 scholars including Zhang Xi and Wu Qi have received this award.
Zhan Xiaowei at the Conference
Zhan Xiaowei is a professor from the College of Engineering at Peking University and a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Zhan engaged in research on photovoltaic functional polymer materials and has made pioneering contributions in the field of non-fullerene receptor organic solar cells. He has published more than 300 papers in journals such as Nat. Rev. Mater. and Nat. Photon., and those papers have been cited more than 27,000 times. He was selected as “Chinese Most Cited Researchers (2014-2018)” by Elsevier and “Global Highly Cited Researchers (2017-2018)” by Clarivate Analytics. Currently, he works as the editor-in-chief of J. Mater. Chem. C and editorial board member of ACS Energy Lett., Mater. Horiz., Chem.Mater., Solar RRL, Acta Chimica Sinica and Acta Physico-Chimica Sinica.
