Peking University carries forward the 2020 graduation work

Peking University, April 15, 2020: On the morning of April 7, 2020, a teleconference was held to facilitate final year student affairs. Leaders of PKU attended the meeting at Yan Yuan Building, the main conference venue, while heads of departments attended the meeting at branch venues of each faculty.

Gong Qihuang, executive vice president and provost of PKU, introduced the basic situation of the graduation work of undergraduates and postgraduates during the epidemic period and arranged the following work. He required all departments to do their work in a serious, standardized and humanized way. He proposed to set up a group led by heads of departments to formulate and refine the plans for graduates. He called on departments to hold full faculty member meetings to notify major changes and arrangements to graduation work. He also mentioned that faculty members should keep frequent communication with graduates to care about their well-being.
Vice President Chen Baojian presented an overview of final year students’ employment status. Student career center would continue to provide more guidance for final year students. Besides, representatives from three faculties and departments exchanged views on the employment situation during the period of epidemic.
Since the coronavirus outbreak, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council have paid close attention to graduate work and made a series of arrangements. PKU has also attached great importance to graduate work and has taken various measures to guarantee the smooth running of graduation work.
