PKU wins champion in “Lanke Cup” China vs Southeast Asia Weiqi Online Group Tournament

Peking University, June 10, 2020: On May 30, “Lanke Cup” China vs Southeast Asia Weiqi Online Group Tournament (Lanke Cup) ended its sixth round. Peking University defeated Tsinghua University and clinched first place, securing the team champion in advance.

In the contest against THU, Tao Hanwen, chief player of PKU, won the first session of the game. Although PKU lost the second and the third session, Wu Yutong, another player of PKU, played strategically in the second half of the fourth session, and won by a narrow margin. In the end, PKU scored 4 points more than THU, achieving the victory.
Teams from PKU, THU and Singapore entered the 7th round of the tournament on June 6. PKU won the first place with a total score of 19 while players from THU and Singapore teams took home the second and third places respectively.

The “Lanke Cup” was sponsored by the Chinese Weiqi Association. The game, with seven rounds in total, adopted a single round-robin system and the latest rules which were approved by the Chinese Weiqi Association.
