Medics from six hospitals affiliated with PKU dispatched to support nucleic acid testing

Peking University, June 23, 2020: Peking University First Hospital, Peking University People’s Hospital, Peking University Third Hospital, Peking University Hospital of Stomatology, Peking University International Hospital and Peking University Sixth Hospital have sent their medical workers, about 230 in total so far, to support the nucleic acid testing (NAT) work. They were tasked to offer help in Daxing district, Haidian district, Changping district and Xicheng district of Beijing. Some of these hospitals also set up medical teams on standby for emergencies.
At 7:30 am on June 20, a total of 60 medical workers from Peking University First Hospital assembled and set off to support the NAT work in Xicheng district. The hospital also set up a backup team in case of an emergency.
At 4 pm on June 17, a total of 15 nurses from Peking University People’s Hospital set off to support the NAT work in Daxing district. From receiving the order to departure, it only took two hours and a half.
On June 17, Peking University Third Hospital sent 20 medical workers to support the NAT work in Daxing district. The team, divided into two groups, began to work soon after they arrived at 6 pm.
On June 19 and 20, Peking University Hospital of Stomatology sent 60 doctors and nurses. They were divided into three groups and responsible for NAT in three communities.
At 8 am on June 18, a total of 15 medical workers from Peking University International Hospital set off to support the NAT work in Changping district. After receiving at the destination, they began to disinfect surroundings and prepare relevant supplies.
At 7:30 pm on June 18, Peking University Sixth Hospital formed a 30-member medical team to support the NAT work. The medical team set off at 5 pm on June 19.
