Peking University, September 10, 2020: Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) 2020 China Finals was held in Baoding, Hebei province on September 5 at the national-level innovation space and incubator: 3S Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base. Competitors are entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Bangladesh. The event was initiated by the Misk Foundation and organized by the 3S Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base. Previously, the Misk Foundation has held many exchange activities with Peking University.

The judges of the finals include Li Yongmei, assistant dean of PKU College of Engineering and director of Innovation Education Center, Xie Guangming, professor and doctoral supervisor of PKU College of Engineering and project evaluation expert of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and prominent figures from other universities, organizations and enterprises.
Bai Hongmin, chairwoman of Baoding Minsheng Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. and member of PKU College of Engineering Industrial Board, and Tian Yuwei, general manager of 3S innovation and entrepreneurship community, provided strong support for the event.

Well-prepared competitors delivered brilliant roadshow. A total of 10 excellent teams in China have successfully advanced to the global finals. They will compete with excellent entrepreneurial teams from more than 180 countries and regions in the world on October 18, 2020. One million in cash prizes total for the global winners plus a combined $70 million worth of in-kind support are provided for the top 100 global finalists. On the basis of the excellent results obtained in the first competition last year, PKU College of Engineering has stepped further this year. Three teams have entered the global finals, showing the rich experience and characteristics of the innovation and entrepreneurship system and the integration of industry, university and research. Boya Gongdao (Beijing) Robot Technology Co., Ltd., founded by Dr. Xiong Minglei of COE, won the champion of the Growth Group. The company's projects involve more than dozens of products in various fields, such as underwater robots, underwater unmanned vehicles, marine instruments and meters, and underwater sports equipment. The Earth Pulsation (Wuxi) Technology Co., Ltd. of Wang Lei's team of Master of Engineering Management (MEM) of COE is committed to providing comprehensive solutions such as geological disaster early warning, urban spatial survey and underground digital space survey.

The competition was introduced into China in 2019 and was successfully held in Stanford Center of Peking University, providing a world-class financing platform for Chinese outstanding entrepreneurs. It was launched at the beginning of 2019 in partnership with the Misk Foundation, which is founded by Saudi Crown Prince, chairman of Saudi Arabia Economic and Development Affairs Committee and chairman of Public Investment Fund (PIF). The national finals were held in hundreds of countries around the world, attracting more than 100,000 enterprises from more than 180 countries.
EWC will continue to help domestic innovation and entrepreneurship teams build a global platform, further promote innovation and entrepreneurship cooperation, and promote the exchange activities between China and Saudi Arabia. In the future, both sides will continue to explore new modes of innovation and entrepreneurship, gather and integrate various resources into different stages.
