PKU has contact with approximately 400 universities and research institutes from nearly 70 countries and regions in the world. PKU also set up more than 40 joint education programs with sister universities. Besides, PKU established a campus in the UK in 2018. Furthermore, Peking University attaches great importance to talent introduction, recruiting 1125 international experts and faculty members in 2019. During the pandemic, Peking University also held a “cloud appointment ceremony” for Manuel Blum, Bruce Nelson chair professor of Carnegie Mellon University and the recipient of Turing Award, and his wife Lenore Blum, distinguished career professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon University.
