The sub-forums of Beijing Forum 2020
Since the beginning of this year, we have witnessed unprecedented major changes taking place across the world. Global challenges facing humanity are becoming more pressing as the international environment has been growing more unstable and uncertain. The global spread of Covid-19 has claimed numerous lives, straining health care systems worldwide. At the same time, world peace and stability have been threatened by rising protectionism, racism, and violent extremism while international economic order has been disrupted by economic globalization and unilateralism. Therefore, in face of the challenges posed by Covid-19, nations must stand together and forge extraordinary synergy to fight off the virus, guided by the philosophy of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Beijing Forum 2020 will put a spotlight on post-pandemic global development, concentrating on ways to deal with the grave challenges brought about by the various major changes happening around the world. Guided by the philosophy of building a community with a shared future for mankind, the event seeks to map out a better future characterized by the 'harmony of civilizations and prosperity for all' (the overarching theme of the annual Forums) by exploring ways for nations to cooperate, achieve win-win progress, and promote mutual learning of culture from multiple perspectives and in various fields.
