Peking University, Dec.5, 2011: Three university presidents from Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly (TSU), Agricultural University named after S. A. Niyazov, and Institute of World Language, Turkmenistan, paid a visit to Peking University recently. PKU president Zhou Qifeng, vice president Li Yansong as well as Xia Hongwei, minister of PKU office of International Relations received the guests and had a candid and in-depth exchange of views on communication and cooperation between PKU and Turkmenistan universities.

The three presidents have accompanied a delegation led by Turkmen Presidet Berdymukhamedov on a visit to China. On the afternoon of Nov. 23rd, PKU held a ceremony to give Turkmen President the title of PKU Honorary Professor at the Great Hall of the People. At the ceremony, President Berdymukhamedov emphasized on cultural exchanges and cooperation in higher education between China and Turkmenistan. Soon after the ceremony, three presidents from Turkmenistan universities visited PKU and discussed the possibility of training talents jointly, increasing cultural exchanges and conducting scientific cooperation. Meanwhile, President Zhou also invited them to attend Beijing Forum, an international academic forum held once a year.
Finally, both sides exchanged souvenirs and took photos together.
