In the meeting, PKU Vice President Li Yansong welcomed the guests, introducing PKU’s international exchanges in recent years. He pointed out that PKU had established the cooperative relationship with overseas universities throughout Asia, Europe and America, including many German counterparts, in order to create more opportunities for teachers and students to study abroad. He hoped that PKU and the University of Munich could sign more cooperation agreements on the basis of common interests.
Dr. Ulrich Pohl indicated that it was the first time for him to come to China. In his eyes, China has developed rapidly these years, and PKU would make greater strides as one of the best universities in China. He suggested that PKU and the University of Munich could provide more chances, such as doctoral training plans and exchange programs, for scholars to study further.
