May 27, 2012

Peking University, May 26, 2012: “The Day of German Higher Education” was held for the second time at Tan Siu Lin Center for International Studies, Peking University (PKU) on May 18.

Aiming at providing information about studying in Germany for the university students in Beijing, representatives from 11 famous German universities, including Free University of Berlin, the University of Munich, Technical University of Munich and Goethe Institute, participated in the event.

At the booth of every university, students could get the related materials and consult the representatives. They might also attend the recruitment seminars held in turns by the universities.

As the joint host, DAAD (“Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst”, known as the German Academic Exchange Service), which has established 14 agencies and 51 information centers all over the world, is the biggest non-profit education exchange institution around the globe. Mr. Jin Yufu, marketing director of DAAD Peking Agency, hoped that more Chinese students could further their studies in Germany.

Ms. Jin Zhenshan, regional representative of Technical University of Munich, regarded the event as a platform to communicate directly with the students and promote the brand of German education.

The PKU students present said that they had received more accurate and detailed information of the 11 universities through the face-to-face communications with the representatives, which would be instrumental for them to choose an appropriate destination.

Besides DAAD, the Academic Evaluation Centre of the Cultural Section of the German Embassy in China (APS) and the Office of International Relations at PKU also sponsored the event.
