Background Info:
EUR is situated at Rotterdam, which is a famous and major port in the world.
The history of EUR can be originated to the early 20th century, at a time when Dutch merchants and industrialists considered it necessary to establish an application-oriented university. Under their support, Netherlands School of Commerce was founded. In 1973, Netherlands School of Commerce and the Medical Faculty Rotterdam merged to establish EUR.
It was the only university in Dutch that was named after a scholar, Erasmus. Born in Rotterdam, he was a famous philosopher and had a great impact in Dutch and even in the Europe.
Since its establishment, EUR has raised more than 1.5 million graduates, many of which have become leaders in politics and economics.
EUR Law School has started the cooperation on exchanging students and teachers with PKU School of Law since 1990s. The renewal indicates a higher level of the cooperation. And for PKU, it also provides a better platform for researching the laws of Europe and the European Union.
