Peking University, Sept. 28, 2012: Professor Glyn Davis, President of the University of Melbourne, visited Peking University (PKU) on September 17, welcomed by PKU President Zhou Qifeng and Vice President Li Yansong.
In the welcome meeting, Zhou Qifeng first introduced to President Davis PKU’s history and present condition of international communications, pointing out that PKU saw an increasing number of world-class scholars and exchange students every year. Then Zhou expressed his hope for proportional promotion for all the schools of PKU on the level of international communications, for some schools had received fewer funds so as to have fewer opportunities to participate in the international programs.
Mentioning his expectation for PKU’s development, Professor Zhou said that compared with other world-famous universities, PKU was still a teenager in its growth. He expected that more and more talented students would be brought up and all the scholars could make use of the resources to make first-rate achievements.
At the end of the meeting, President Davis invited President Zhou to visit Australia in return.
