Peking University, Mar. 19, 2011: Professor Shi Yuguang from School of Mathematical Science, Peking University, won the Ramanujan Prize of 2010 recently. The prize, in honor of Professor Shi Yuguang’s outstanding achievements in the geometry of Complete (Non-Compact) Riemannian Manifolds, was bestowed by ICTP (the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics). It’s also regarded as a praise for his 15-year-long mathematical teaching and research in China.

The Ramanujan Prize is created for a researcher less than 45 years of age from a developing country with a US$15,000 award. Five outstanding mathematicians constitute a selection committee. And they are appointed by ICTP and IMU (International Mathematical Union).
