PKU and UC Berkeley seek future collaboration

Peking University, Apr. 23, 2012: Headed by Professor Robert Lin, member of the US National Academy of Science, a delegation from UC Berkeley paid a visit to PKU and seek for further collaboration with PKU. Vice President Wang Enge and professors from School of Earth and Space Sciences met with the delegation on April 19.

 

 

Wang spoke highly of the existing collaborations between PKU and UC Berkeley and pointed out that PKU has increased the investment on fundamental research recently. With the top scientists and the best students, both sides should develop new ideas to collaborate at national level including the students’ exchange programs and all kinds of experiment work.

 

According to the MOU signed on January 1, 2011, both institutions agree to carry out the cooperation on academic research and the exchange of faculty and students, scientific publications and other academic programs of mutual interests.

 

 “I hope the collaborations between Berkeley and PKU will be very productive. We already discussed some new ideas for projects and hopefully it will be successful”, Professor Robert Lin said.

 

After the meeting, Professor Robert Lin was conferred the certificate of PKU Visiting Chair Professor by Wang Enge.
