Peking University, Nov. 21, 2012: Angina Parekh, Deputy Vice-chancellor of the University of Johannesburg, visited Peking University (PKU) on October 26 and was received by PKU Vice President Li Yansong. The two parties introduced the history and status quo of each other first.

On referring to PKU’s cooperation with its African counterparts, Li emphasized that it was among the first ones in China to carry out African studies, keeping close concern about the continent.
Angina Parekh wished that the two universities would establish a communication platform in order to open a window for Sino-African exchange. She also invited Chinese students to study abroad in Africa.
Parekh then gave a lecture about the higher education in South Africa to the teachers and students from the Graduate School of Education and the Center for African Studies at PKU.
