Peking University, Beijing, April 28, 2009: Wang Ercheng, Vice Minister of the Central Organization Department, accompanied by Min Weifang, Party Secretary of Peking University, Wu Zhipan, Executive Deputy Secretary and others, investigated the training for the officers in the PKU School of Government. Professor Fu Jun, Executive Vice President of the College gave a report regarding the software and hardware configuration, the subjects, the teaching content, as well as complement between the training for officers and teaching and research in the College.
Professor Fu made a brief introduction on the "Global Public Policy Advanced Training Project", which was jointly held by PKU School of Government, Columbia University in the USA, the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, France and the London School of Economics in United Kingdom as a case of officers’ training. In addition, also "Economics and Public Policy", "Political Science and Public Policy", "Public Policy Analysis", "Law and Public Policy", "Public Policy and Management", "Public Policy and Technological Innovation", and other core courses were offered, the international project was also constituted of lectures about current pressing problems given by ambassadors and high-level officers from governments and enterprises all over the world.
Strongly supported by the Central Organization Department, this program has been held three times since June 2006. About 150 students have won certificates co-granted by the four universities listed above. The fourth session, which is scheduled to be held in June this year, will include officer-trainees from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister's Office and other offices in Singapore. In addition, Professor Fu Jun also introduced the recently launched Project MPP, which was set up for the Asian and African officials.
