Peking University, Dec. 16: The annual councils of three Confucius Institutes of Peking University (PKU) were held successively on PKU campus recently.

Confucious Institute of Cairo University

On the afternoon of Dec. 10, the annual council meeting of the Confucius Institute of Cairo University (CU) was held in Linhuxuan at PKU. The represent of CU president with other Egyptian members from CU, vice president of PKU, Prof. Li Yansong with other Chinese members, attended the meeting. During the meeting, the work report of the Confucius Institute of CU in 2011 and project budget of 2012 were made and the report about the use of funds in 2011 was approved. Besides, president of the Confucius Institute made reports about Chinese language teaching, Chinese culture spreading, HSK examinations, school magazine compiling and seminar holding in 2011.

Confucius Institute of Universidad de Granada

The annual council meeting of the Confucius Institute of Universidad de Granada was held on the morning of Dec. 11. Vice president of Universidad de Granada Dorothy Kelly, PKU vice president Li Yansong and other council members were present at the meeting. The work report and fund-use report in 2011, and the budget plan of 2012 were made during the meeting. The council spoke highly of the work of the Confucius Institute in 2011, including Internet construction, working condition improvement, fund collection and other resultful projects, and gave constructive advice on the work next year.

Confucius Institute of Moscow State University named after M. V. Lemonosov

Finally, on the afternoon of Dec. 11, the annual council meeting of the Confucius Institute of Moscow State University named after M. V. Lemonosov (MSU) was held. MSU vice president Xiao Ming, PKU vice president Li Yansong and other council members attended the meeting. Similarly, different kinds of reports were made and the council discussed about the Confucius Institute summer camp and the joint forum. The council praised the work of the Confucius Institute of MSU and indicated it would continue supporting the development of the Confucius Institute.
