Peking University, Dec. 27, 2018: From December 6 to 8, 2018, the APASL (Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver) Single Topic Conference 2018 on Autoimmune Liver Disease and Liver Immunity, hosted by APASL and sponsored by Chinese Foundation for Hepatitis Prevention and Control (CFHPC), was successfully held at China National Convention Center (CNCC), Beijing. This seminar is the first in the Asia-Pacific region for academic exchanges and research concerning autoimmune liver disease and liver immunology.
A total of 88 world-renowned hepatology experts and 1,357 doctors, researchers and medical health professionals from over 20 countries and regions attended the meeting. A total of 68 special academic reports were made, with five winning Young Scientist Award, 12 winning Excellent Presentation Award and 30 winning Poster Award. Professor Wang Guiqiang, head of the Infectious Diseases Department of Peking University First Hospital, chaired the meeting and made a keynote speech, showing the first-class influence of the Hospital in the field of liver disease research.

The awardees
Entrusted by Professor Sarin SK, president of APASL, Professor Wang Guiqiang has organized experts both at home and abroad to start the compilation of the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Autoimmune Hepatitis in the Asia-Pacific Region, and the preliminary draft is expected to be ready in February 2019.
