Chancellor of University of Wisconsin-Madison Rebecca Blank visits Peking University

Peking University, July 2, 2019: Rebecca Blank, chancellor of University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW Madison), recently visited Peking University (PKU) along with other delegates. Hao Ping, president of Peking University received the delegation at Linhuxuan, where both sides had an in-depth discussion about future academic exchanges.

Founded in 1848, the UW-Madison is located in Madison, capital of Wisconsin. It is one of the world’s top-tier public research universities, also known as one of the Public Ivies.

Hao pointed out that, since the early 20th century, UW Madison has always been a top choice for Chinese students to study aboard. In the past century, UW Madison has made a major contribution to cultivating Chinese talents in different fields. Peking University anticipates to strengthen the existent intimate cooperation with UW Madison in the future.

Blank also emphasized the benefits of learning from each other in academic areas. Acknowledging Peking University as a renowned higher institution in China, Blank looks forward to more bilateral cooperation between the two sides.

After the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Schools of Education from the two universities was signed and both sides also attended the 5th PKU-UW Symposium on Higher Education.
